Santita Jackson is an accomplished singer, political commentator, radio personality, and television host whose multifaceted career spans music, media, and social justice advocacy. Born July 17, 1963, in Greensboro, North Carolina, and raised in Chicago, Santita is the eldest daughter of civil rights icon Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson Sr. and Jacqueline Lavinia Brown Jackson.
Education & Early Career
A National Merit Achievement Scholar, Santita earned a full academic scholarship to Howard University, where she became a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She was also a member of the world-renowned Howard University Chorale, under the direction of Dr. James Weldon Norris. While at Howard, she became legislative aide to Congressman Gus Savage, gaining invaluable experience in public service and political advocacy.
Music Career
Santita parlayed those various experiences into a successful music career that included touring for more than five years as a backup singer for legendary artist Roberta Flack. She also performed with Opera Ebony, showcasing her versatility across musical genres. Career highlights include the honor of singing the National Anthem at the President Bill Clinton's second inauguration in 1997, as well as a personal invitation from Andrea Bocelli to perform as an inspirational Artist at his annual Soul Music Festival in Bologna, Italy, testaments to her exceptional artistry and national and international recognition.

Transitioning seamlessly into media, Santita has established herself as a respected voice in political commentary and broadcasting. She was a political commentator on Fox News, and has appeared on NewsNation, MSNBC, ABC, and CBS News, offering insightful analysis on civil rights, social justice, and political issues. As a television host on The Word Network, she has continued to engage audiences with compelling content.
Santita serves as the executive producer and host of the nationally syndicated weekend radio programs "Keep Hope Alive with Rev. Jesse Jackson," and “The Santita Jackson Show,” roles she has held for many years. Following her father's passing in February 2026, she continues to host and produce the nationally-syndicated iHeartRadio “Keep Hope Alive with Rev. Jackson” radio program, honoring his legacy while advancing the conversation on social justice, equality, and hope for all Americans.
